THE CLEAN LINES OF MALTA: GOZO MINIMAL
When there are way too many thoughts pounding in my head, I grab my camera and get out. Taking pictures has always had the same effect on me from day one - a switch is turned and quite literally, the outside world stops existing as is. It transforms into shapes and lines, perspectives, colours, it makes me feel like Alice in Wonderland, following the rabbit of inspiration.
I spent a week in Malta, climbing rocks and in between I discovered quite a few construction sites in Gozo Island. They offered the perfect occasion to organise my thoughts by representing clean lines, sharp cuts, bones of reality - how perception works. Lines remain straight, only light "bends" them by creating shadows...our thoughts and feelings deform the same way, I guess, depending on which angle and how much light we let in...
